Juniper Systems’ ikeGPS is a handheld device that captures long-range geospatial data quickly. Just point, click and receive a target’s distance and position enhanced with a digital image.
The target can be up to 1000 meters away. The digital image provides crosshairs as well as descriptive information on the picture. Data are available right away for mobile GIS, such as user application programs or ESRI ArcPad.
Also called the Longbow, ikeGPS merges laser rangefinder, digital camera, 3D compass, GPS receiver and Archer Field PC into a solid all-in-one GIS tool for use in the field.
There are three versions available to fit one’s long-distance targeting and image resolution needs: 100, 300, and 1,000 meter models.
Applications are situations where safety is a concern or
targets are out of reach. These include military engineering, disaster relief, environmental work, insurance assessment, research and asset management.
