What makes them so perfect for these uses—apart from their small form factor—is that they consume a phenomenally small amount of power. The low-noise amplifier’s nominal current consumption is only 2mA, but it produces 21dB in nominal gain.
The TW1027 and TW1029 also boast incredible out-of-band signal rejection, so you never have to worry about nearby signals interfering with the integrity of your antenna. The TW1029 also includes a special Brick-Wall pre-filter, which protects it against saturation by nearby L-band and sub-harmonic frequencies.
