A New Global Correction Service: Atlas GNSS
Hemisphere GNSS has developed Atlas™, a new global GNSS correction service, to address the limitations imposed by other correction service providers. The service delivers its correction signals both by L-band satellite and the Internet, making it an extremely flexible solution.
With approximately 200 reference stations worldwide, the Atlas™ GNSS correction service is able to offer worldwide coverage. L-band satellites cover from 75°N to 75°S, and there is no geographical limit to Internet coverage.
Depending on the accuracy class selected, the Atlas™ GNSS service is able to offer anywhere from sub-meter to sub-decimeter level accuracies in reasonable conditions. In some applications, positioning accuracies have even reached as little as 2 cm RMS. As the satellite frequency is different in different parts of the world, Atlas receivers automatically tune to the best-available frequency.
Atlas™ is receive-only rather than bi-directional to maximize power and cost savings, and works with a broad range of Hemisphere GNSS receivers. Additionally, almost any existing Hemisphere product can be upgraded to support Atlas, enabling the flexibility needed to tailor these solutions to the needs of specific markets. The service also supports third-party GNSS receivers via Hemisphere’s SmartLink™ and BaseLink™ capabilities.
AtlasLink™ GNSS Smart Antenna
You can add Atlas™ GNSS global correction service to any GNSS receiver with AtlasLink™, the world’s most powerful multi-purpose smart antenna. This multi-GNSS, multi-frequency smart antenna is preconfigured to receive corrections from Atlas™ GNSS global correction service. Use of this rugged antenna will liberate users from expensive and restrictive proprietary correction services.
With the combined capabilities of SmartLink™ and BaseLink™, AtlasLink™ can provide corrections to any RTK-capable GNSS receiver, from any vendor supporting industry-standard correction formats. The fact that it is cased in a durable, weather-resistant enclosure also makes the antenna optimal for use in challenging environments, and for a variety of applications, including mining, agriculture, and marine use.
For ease of use, the AtlasLink™ Smart Antenna can be managed via the self-service Atlas Web Portal UI accessed via WiFi. This service can be accessed through any web browser and offers user-friendly asset management and account information for Atlas subscriptions. The portal also supports other Hemisphere products, including R330, V320, VS330, and any product capable of running Athena™ firmware and receiving corrections over the Internet.
